CRN Revs Up Sales, Marketing

NEW HAVEN, CT, Nov. 21, 2013 – CRN International, longtime leader in integrated radio marketing solutions, has bolstered its marketing and sales teams as it continues to champion non-traditional strategies to better serve major consumer brands.

With the tagline, “We Use Radio Differently,” CRN has extended the boundaries of radio marketing beyond simple spot advertisements and has customized programs to meet specific business objectives. This has kept the award-winning company on marketing’s cutting edge for close to 40 years, serving prominent clients such as MicrosoftChryslerProcter and GambleMillerCoorsKraftMajor League Baseball,HBO, and Allstate.

To spearhead the latest initiative, CRN has named Jim Alkon as Marketing Director, whose mission is to extend the profile of the company among consumer brands and advertising agencies.

At the same time, CRN has named Robert O’Mara as Managing Director, Strategy and Business Development, and added two new sales managers.

Alkon joins CRN following a variety of successful marketing endeavors. He started in b-to-b publishing in industries ranging from travel to meetings to technology, and has helped organizations such as the Convention Industry Council and Meeting Professionals International increase their presence on international, national and local fronts. He most recently was Managing Director of Meetings and Media, his own consulting business.

O’Mara, who has been with CRN for 13 years, will oversee all sales operations. Prior to his promotion, O’Mara had served as a key member of the CRN sales team, focusing primarily on accounts in the New York metropolitan market.

Additionally, CRN has named Amanda Alvarez and Maureen Conlin as Associate Directors of Strategy and Business Development, reporting to O’Mara. Their prior experience at CRN and with radio marketing should allow them both to hit the ground running as they split their time supporting business at CRN headquarters in New Haven, CT, and at CRN’s New York City offices.
